حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حَبَّانُ بْنُ هِلَالٍ، وَسُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، وحَجَّاجُ بْنُ مِنْهَالٍ، قَالُوا:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ شَهْرِ بْنِ حَوْشَبٍ، عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ يَزِيدَ، قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يَقْرَأُ:‏‏‏‏ يَا عِبَادِيَ الَّذِينَ أَسْرَفُوا عَلَى أَنْفُسِهِمْ لا تَقْنَطُوا مِنْ رَحْمَةِ اللَّهِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ جَمِيعًا سورة الزمر آية 53 وَلَا يُبَالِي . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏لَا نَعْرِفُهُ إِلَّا مِنْ حَدِيثِ ثَابِتٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ شَهْرِ بْنِ حَوْشَبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَشَهْرُ بْنُ حَوْشَبٍ يَرْوِي عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ الْأَنْصَارِيَّةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأُمُّ سَلَمَةَ الْأَنْصَارِيَّةُ هِيَ أَسْمَاءُ بِنْتُ يَزِيدَ.

Urdu Translation

اسماء بنت یزید کہتی ہیں کہ   میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو آیت «يا عبادي الذين أسرفوا على أنفسهم لا تقنطوا من رحمة الله إن الله يغفر الذنوب جميعا» ”اے میرے وہ بندو! جنہوں نے اپنی جانوں پر زیادتی کی ہے ( یعنی گناہ کیے ہیں ) اللہ کی رحمت سے مایوس نہ ہوؤ، اللہ سبھی گناہ معاف کر دیتا ہے“ ( الزمر: ۵۳ ) ، پڑھتے ہوئے سنا ہے۔ اللہ کو کوئی پروا نہیں ہوتی ( کہ اللہ کی اس چھوٹ اور مہربانی سے کون فائدہ اٹھا رہا ہے اور کون محروم رہ رہا ہے ) ۱؎۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن غریب ہے، ۲- ہم اسے صرف ثابت کی روایت سے جانتے ہیں اور وہ شہر بن حوشب سے روایت کرتے ہیں، ۳- شہر بن حوشب ام سلمہ انصاریہ سے روایت کرتے ہیں، اور ام سلمہ انصاریہ اسماء بنت یزید ہیں۔

English Translation

Narrated Asma bint Yazid: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) reciting: 'Say: O My slaves who have transgressed against themselves! Despair not of the mercy of Allah, verily, Allah forgives all sins and I do not mind (referring to 39:53).
