حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ، أَنْبَأَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ نَجِيحٍ، عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ نَاسٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏مَنْ هَؤُلَاءِ الَّذِينَ ذَكَرَ اللَّهُ إِنْ تَوَلَّيْنَا اسْتُبْدِلُوا بِنَا ثُمَّ لَمْ يَكُونُوا أَمْثَالَنَا ؟ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَكَانَ سَلْمَانُ بِجَنْبِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَضَرَبَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَخِذَ سَلْمَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا وَأَصْحَابُهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَوْ كَانَ الْإِيمَانُ مَنُوطًا بِالثُّرَيَّا لَتَنَاوَلَهُ رِجَالٌ مِنْ فَارِسَ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ نَجِيحٍ هُوَ وَالِدُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمَدِينِيِّ.

Urdu Translation

ابوہریرہ رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   صحابہ میں سے کچھ لوگوں نے کہا: اللہ کے رسول! یہ کون لوگ ہیں جن کا ذکر اللہ نے کیا ہے کہ اگر ہم پلٹ جائیں گے تو وہ ہماری جگہ لے آئے جائیں گے، اور وہ ہم جیسے نہ ہوں گے، سلمان رضی الله عنہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پہلو میں بیٹھے ہوئے تھے، رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے سلمان رضی الله عنہ کی ران پر ہاتھ رکھا اور فرمایا: ”یہ اور ان کے اصحاب، قسم ہے اس ذات کی جس کے ہاتھ میں میری جان ہے! اگر ایمان ثریا ۱؎ کے ساتھ بھی معلق ہو گا تو بھی فارس کے کچھ لوگ اسے پا لیں گے۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ عبداللہ بن جعفر بن نجیح: علی بن المدینی کے والد ہیں، ۲- علی بن حجر نے عبداللہ بن جعفر سے بہت سے احادیث روایت کی ہیں۔

English Translation

Narrated Abu Hurairah: Some people among the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'O Messenger of Allah! Who are these people whom Allah mentioned, that if we turn away they would replace us, then they would not be like us?' He said: And Salman was beside the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), so the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) patted Salman's thigh and said: 'This one and his companions, and by the One in Whose Hand is my soul! If faith were suspended from Pleiades, then it would be reached by men from Persia.'
