حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، أَخْبَرَنَا حُصَيْنٌ، عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ بَيْنَمَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَخْطُبُ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ قَائِمًا إِذْ قَدِمَتْ عِيرُ الْمَدِينَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَابْتَدَرَهَا أَصْحَابُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَتَّى لَمْ يَبْقَ مِنْهُمْ إِلَّا اثْنَا عَشَرَ رَجُلًا فِيهِمْ أَبُو بَكْرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَعُمَرُ وَنَزَلَتِ الْآيَةَ:‏‏‏‏ وَإِذَا رَأَوْا تِجَارَةً أَوْ لَهْوًا انْفَضُّوا إِلَيْهَا وَتَرَكُوكَ قَائِمًا سورة الجمعة آية 11 . قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ.

Urdu Translation

جابر رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   اس دوران کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم جمعہ کے دن کھڑے خطبہ دے رہے تھے، مدینہ کا ( تجارتی ) قافلہ آ گیا، ( یہ سن کر ) صحابہ بھی ( خطبہ چھوڑ کر ) ادھر ہی لپک لیے، صرف بارہ آدمی باقی رہ گئے جن میں ابوبکر و عمر رضی الله عنہما بھی تھے، اسی موقع پر آیت «وإذا رأوا تجارة أو لهوا انفضوا إليها وتركوك قائما» ”اور جب کوئی سودا بکتا دیکھیں یا کوئی تماشہ نظر آ جائے تو اس کی طرف دوڑ جاتے ہیں اور آپ کو کھڑا ہی چھوڑ دیتے ہیں، آپ کہہ دیجئیے کہ اللہ کے پاس جو ہے وہ کھیل اور تجارت سے بہتر ہے اور اللہ تعالیٰ بہترین روزی رساں ہے“ ( الجمعۃ: ۱۱ ) ، نازل ہوئی۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے۔

English Translation

Jabir said: “The Prophet was standing and delivering a Khutbah for us on one Friday, when a caravan arrived in Al-Madinah. So the Companions of the Messenger of Allah rushed off until only twelve men remained. Among them were Abu Bakr and Umar. And This Ayah was revealed: And when they see some merchandise or some amusement, they disperse headlong to it.”
