حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ أَبِي قَيْسٍ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَيْرَةَ، عَنِ الْأَحْنَفِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ، عَنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ، زَعَمَ أَنَّهُ كَانَ جَالِسًا فِي الْبَطْحَاءِ فِي عِصَابَةٍ وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَالِسٌ فِيهِمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏إِذْ مَرَّتْ عَلَيْهِمْ سَحَابَةٌ فَنَظَرُوا إِلَيْهَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ هَلْ تَدْرُونَ مَا اسْمُ هَذِهِ ؟ قَالُوا:‏‏‏‏ نَعَمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏هَذَا السَّحَابُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ وَالْمُزْنُ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالُوا:‏‏‏‏ وَالْمُزْنُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ وَالْعَنَانُ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالُوا:‏‏‏‏ وَالْعَنَانُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ هَلْ تَدْرُونَ كَمْ بُعْدُ مَا بَيْنَ السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ ؟ فَقَالُوا:‏‏‏‏ لَا وَاللَّهِ مَا نَدْرِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَإِنَّ بُعْدَ مَا بَيْنَهُمَا إِمَّا وَاحِدَةٌ وَإِمَّا اثْنَتَانِ أَوْ ثَلَاثٌ وَسَبْعُونَ سَنَةً، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَالسَّمَاءُ الَّتِي فَوْقَهَا كَذَلِكَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَتَّى عَدَّدَهُنَّ سَبْعَ سَمَوَاتٍ كَذَلِكَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَوْقَ السَّمَاءِ السَّابِعَةِ بَحْرٌ بَيْنَ أَعْلَاهُ وَأَسْفَلِهِ كَمَا بَيْنَ السَّمَاءِ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ وَفَوْقَ ذَلِكَ ثَمَانِيَةُ أَوْعَالٍ بَيْنَ أَظْلَافِهِنَّ وَرُكَبِهِنَّ مِثْلُ مَا بَيْنَ سَمَاءٍ إِلَى سَمَاءٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ فَوْقَ ظُهُورِهِنَّ الْعَرْشُ بَيْنَ أَسْفَلِهِ وَأَعْلَاهُ مِثْلُ مَا بَيْنَ سَمَاءٍ إِلَى سَمَاءٍ وَاللَّهُ فَوْقَ ذَلِكَ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏سَمِعْتُ يَحْيَى بْنَ مَعِينٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ أَلَا يُرِيدُ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ سَعْدٍ أَنْ يَحُجَّ حَتَّى نَسْمَعَ مِنْهُ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ. قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَرَوَى الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي ثَوْرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سِمَاكٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏نَحْوَهُ وَرَفَعَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَرَوَى شَرِيكٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سِمَاكٍ بَعْضَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ أَوْقَفَهُ وَلَمْ يَرْفَعْهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ هُوَ ابْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ الرَّازِيُّ.

Urdu Translation

عباس بن عبدالمطلب رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   میں وادی بطحاء میں صحابہ کی ایک جماعت کے ساتھ بیٹھا ہوا تھا اور آپ بھی انہیں لوگوں میں تشریف فرما تھے، اچانک لوگوں کے اوپر سے ایک بدلی گزری، لوگ اسے دیکھنے لگے، رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ان سے پوچھا: ”کیا تم جانتے ہو اس کا نام کیا ہے؟“ لوگوں نے کہا: جی ہاں ہم جانتے ہیں، یہ «سحاب» ہے، آپ نے فرمایا: ”کیا یہ «مزن» ہے؟“ لوگوں نے کہا: جی ہاں یہ «مزن» بھی ہے، رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”کیا اسے «عنان» ۱؎ بھی کہتے ہیں“، لوگوں نے کہا: جی ہاں یہ «عنان» بھی ہے، پھر آپ نے لوگوں سے کہا: کیا تم جانتے ہو آسمان اور زمین کے درمیان کتنی دوری ہے؟ لوگوں نے کہا: نہیں، قسم اللہ کی ہم نہیں جانتے، آپ نے فرمایا: ”ان دونوں میں اکہتر ( ۷۱ ) بہتر ( ۷۲ ) یا تہتر ( ۷۳ ) سال کا فرق ہے اور جو آسمان اس کے اوپر ہے وہ بھی اتنا ہی دور ہے“، اور اسی فرق کے ساتھ آپ نے سات آسمان گن ڈالے، پھر آپ نے فرمایا: ”ساتویں آسمان پر ایک دریا ہے جس کی اوپری سطح اور نچلی سطح میں اتنی دوری ہے جتنی ایک آسمان سے دوسرے آسمان کی دوری ہے ( یعنی وہ اتنا زیادہ گہرا ہے ) اور ان کے اوپر آٹھ جنگلی بکرے ( فرشتے ) ہیں جن کی کھروں اور گھٹنوں کے درمیان اتنی دوری اور لمبائی ہے جتنی دوری اور لمبائی ایک آسمان سے دوسرے آسمان کے درمیان ہے، پھر ان کی پیٹھوں پر عرش ہے، عرش کی نچلی سطح اور اوپری سطح میں ایک آسمان سے دوسرے آسمان کی سی دوری ہے ( یعنی عرش اتنا موٹا ہے ) اور اللہ اس کے اوپر ہے۔ عبد بن حمید کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے یحییٰ بن معین کو کہتے ہوئے سنا ہے، عبدالرحمٰن بن سعد حج کرنے کیوں نہیں جاتے کہ وہاں ان سے یہ حدیث ہم سنتے ۲؎۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن غریب ہے، ۲- ولید بن ابوثور نے سماک سے اسی طرح یہ حدیث روایت کی ہے اور اسے مرفوعاً روایت کیا ہے، ۳- شریک نے سماک سے اس حدیث کے بعض حصوں کی روایت کی ہے اور اسے موقوفا روایت کیا ہے، مرفوعاً نہیں کیا، ۴- عبدالرحمٰن، یہ ابن عبداللہ بن سعد رازی ہیں۔

English Translation

Al-Ahnaf bin Wais narrated : from Al-Abbas bin Abdul-Muttalib who claimed that he was sitting in Al-Batha with a group, and the Messenger of Allah was sitting amongst them, when a cloud passed over them. They looked at it, and the Messenger of Allah said: ‘Di you know what its name it?’ They said: ‘Yes. This is As-Sahab (cloud).’ The Messenger of Allah saidl: ‘Al-Muzn (rain cloud)?’ They said: ‘Yes. This is As-Sahab (cloud).’ Then the Messenger of Allah said: ‘Do you know how much distance there is between the heavens and the earth?’ They said: ‘No, by Allah we do not know.’ He said: ‘The distance between every two of them is either seventy-one, or two, or three, years, and the heaven that is above that one is like that.’ Until he enumerated Seven heavens like that. Then he said: ‘Above the seventh heaven is a sea, Between its highest part and its lowest is just as there is between one heaven to another heaven. Then above their backs is the Throne. Between its lowest and highest parts is the same as what is between one heaven to another heaven, and Allah is above that.’”
