Abu Hurairah narrated that: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “There are two statements that are light on the tongue, heavy on the Scale, and beloved to Ar-Raḥmān: “Glory is to Allah and the praise; Glory is to Allah, the Magnificent. (Subḥān Allāhi wa biḥamdih, Subḥān Allāhil-Aẓīm)”

حَدَّثَنَا يُوسُفُ بْنُ عِيسَى، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْفُضَيْلِ، عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ الْقَعْقَاعِ، عَنْ أَبِي زُرْعَةَ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ جَرِيرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ كَلِمَتَانِ خَفِيفَتَانِ عَلَى اللِّسَانِ ثَقِيلَتَانِ فِي الْمِيزَانِ حَبِيبَتَانِ إِلَى الرَّحْمَنِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ الْعَظِيمِ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ غَرِيبٌ.

ابوہریرہ رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”دو کلمے ہیں جو زبان پر ہلکے ہیں ( آسانی سے ادا ہو جاتے ہیں ) مگر میزان میں بھاری ہیں ( تول میں وزنی ہیں ) رحمن کو پیارے ہیں ( وہ یہ ہیں ) «سبحان الله وبحمده سبحان الله العظيم» ۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: یہ حدیث حسن صحیح غریب ہے۔
