Baab Nawafil Aur Sunnaton Ke Ehkaam O Masail

حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدُ بْنُ مَسْعَدَةَ الْبَصْرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَخْطُبُ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ ثُمَّ يَجْلِسُ ثُمَّ يَقُومُ فَيَخْطُبُ . قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ مِثْلَ مَا تَفْعَلُونَ الْيَوْمَ. قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَفِي الْبَاب عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَجَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَجَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ. قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ حَدِيثُ ابْنِ عُمَرَ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَهُوَ الَّذِي رَآهُ أَهْلُ الْعِلْمِ أَنْ يَفْصِلَ بَيْنَ الْخُطْبَتَيْنِ بِجُلُوسٍ.

Urdu Translation

عبداللہ بن عمر رضی الله عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ   اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم جمعہ کے دن خطبہ دیتے پھر ( بیچ میں ) بیٹھتے، پھر کھڑے ہوتے اور خطبہ دیتے، راوی کہتے ہیں: جیسے آج کل تم لوگ کرتے ہو۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- ابن عمر رضی الله عنہما کی حدیث حسن صحیح ہے، ۲- اس باب میں ابن عباس، جابر بن عبداللہ اور جابر بن سمرہ رضی الله عنہم سے بھی احادیث آئی ہیں، ۳- یہی اہل علم کی رائے ہے کہ دونوں خطبوں کے درمیان بیٹھ کر فصل کرے۔

English Translation

Ibn Umar narrated: The Prophet would give a Khutbah on Friday, then sit, then stand and give (another) Khutbah. He said: Similar to what they do today.
