Baab Nawafil Aur Sunnaton Ke Ehkaam O Masail

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، أَخْبَرَنَا حُصَيْنٌ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعْتُ عُمَارَةَ بْنَ رُوَيْبَةَ الثَّقَفِيَّ، وَبِشْرُ بْنُ مَرْوَانَ يَخْطُبُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَرَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ فِي الدُّعَاءِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ عُمَارَةُ:‏‏‏‏ قَبَّحَ اللَّهُ هَاتَيْنِ الْيُدَيَّتَيْنِ الْقُصَيَّرَتَيْنِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏لَقَدْ رأَيتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمَا يَزِيدُ عَلَى أَنْ يَقُولَ هَكَذَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَشَارَ هُشَيْمٌ بِالسَّبَابةِ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ.

Urdu Translation

حصین کہتے ہیں کہ   بشر بن مروان خطبہ دے رہے تھے، انہوں نے دعا ۱؎ کے لیے اپنے دونوں ہاتھ اٹھائے، تو میں نے عمارہ بن رویبہ کو کہتے سنا: اللہ ان دونوں چھوٹے ہاتھوں کو غارت کرے، میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو دیکھا آپ صرف اس طرح کرتے تھے اس سے زیادہ کچھ نہیں، اور ہشیم نے اپنی انگشت شہادت سے اشارہ کیا۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے۔

English Translation

Husain narrated: I heard Umarah bin Rawaibah Ath-Thaqafi - while Bishr bin Marwan was delivering Khutbah and raising his hands in supplication - so Umarah said: 'May Allah disgrace these two insignificant hands, I have seen Allah's Messenger, and he would not do any more than this;' and Hushaim (one of the narrators) motioned with his index finger.
