Abu Dharr narrated that : the Messenger of Allah said: O Abu Dharr! When you fast three days out of a month, then fast the thirteenth, fourteenth, and fifteenth.

حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَنْبَأَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ، قَال:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعْتُ يَحْيَى بْنَ بَسَامٍ يُحَدِّثُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ طَلْحَةَ، قَال:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا ذَرٍّ، يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ يَا أَبَا ذَرٍّ إِذَا صُمْتَ مِنَ الشَّهْرِ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَصُمْ ثَلَاثَ عَشْرَةَ وَأَرْبَعَ عَشْرَةَ وَخَمْسَ عَشْرَةَ . وَفِي الْبَاب عَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقُرَّةَ بْنِ إِيَاسٍ الْمُزَنِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَبِي عَقْرَبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَعَائِشَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَتَادَةَ بْنِ مِلْحَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَعُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي الْعَاصِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَجَرِيرٍ. قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ حَدِيثُ أَبِي ذَرٍّ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَدْ رُوِيَ فِي بَعْضِ الْحَدِيثِ أَنَّ مَنْ صَامَ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ كَانَ كَمَنْ صَامَ الدَّهْرَ.

ابوذر رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”ابوذر! جب تم ہر ماہ کے تین دن کے روزے رکھو تو تیرہویں، چودہویں اور پندرہویں تاریخ کو رکھو“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- ابوذر رضی الله عنہ کی حدیث حسن ہے، ۲- اس باب میں ابوقتادہ، عبداللہ بن عمرو، قرہ بن ایاس مزنی، عبداللہ بن مسعود، ابوعقرب، ابن عباس، عائشہ، قتادہ بن ملحان، عثمان بن ابی العاص اور جریر رضی الله عنہم سے بھی احادیث آئی ہیں، ۳- بعض احادیث میں یہ بھی ہے کہ ”جس نے ہر ماہ تین دن کے روزے رکھے تو وہ اس شخص کی طرح ہے جس نے صوم الدھر رکھا“۔
