حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ، حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ السَّرِيِّ، عَنْ زَائِدَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَقِيلٍ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَفَّنَ حَمْزَةَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ فِي نَمِرَةٍ فِي ثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ . قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَفِي الْبَاب، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُغَفَّلٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَابْنِ عُمَرَ. قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ حَدِيثُ عَائِشَةَ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَدْ رُوِيَ فِي كَفَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رِوَايَاتٌ مُخْتَلِفَةٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَحَدِيثُ عَائِشَةَ أَصَحُّ الْأَحَادِيثِ الَّتِي رُوِيَتْ فِي كَفَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَالْعَمَلُ عَلَى حَدِيثِ عَائِشَةَ عِنْدَ أَكْثَرِ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَغَيْرِهِمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ سُفْيَانُ الثَّوْرِيُّ:‏‏‏‏ يُكَفَّنُ الرَّجُلُ فِي ثَلَاثَةِ أَثْوَابٍ إِنْ شِئْتَ فِي قَمِيصٍ وَلِفَافَتَيْنِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَإِنْ شِئْتَ فِي ثَلَاثِ لَفَائِفَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَيُجْزِي ثَوْبٌ وَاحِدٌ إِنْ لَمْ يَجِدُوا ثَوْبَيْنِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَالثَّوْبَانِ يُجْزِيَانِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَالثَّلَاثَةُ لِمَنْ وَجَدَهَا أَحَبُّ إِلَيْهِمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَهُوَ قَوْلُ:‏‏‏‏ الشَّافِعِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَحْمَدَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَإِسْحَاق، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالُوا:‏‏‏‏ تُكَفَّنُ الْمَرْأَةُ فِي خَمْسَةِ أَثْوَابٍ.

Urdu Translation

جابر بن عبداللہ رضی الله عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے حمزہ بن عبدالمطلب رضی الله عنہ کو ایک ہی کپڑے میں ایک چادر میں کفنایا۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- عائشہ رضی الله عنہا کی حدیث حسن صحیح ہے، ۲- نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے کفن کے بارے میں مختلف احادیث آئی ہیں۔ اور ان سبھی حدیثوں میں عائشہ والی حدیث سب سے زیادہ صحیح ہے، ۳- اس باب میں علی ۱؎، ابن عباس، عبداللہ بن مغفل اور ابن عمر رضی الله عنہم سے بھی احادیث آئی ہیں، ۴- صحابہ کرام وغیرہم میں سے اکثر اہل علم کا عمل عائشہ ہی کی حدیث پر ہے، ۵- سفیان ثوری کہتے ہیں: آدمی کو تین کپڑوں میں کفنایا جائے۔ چاہے ایک قمیص اور دو لفافوں میں، اور چاہے تین لفافوں میں۔ اگر دو کپڑے نہ ملیں تو ایک بھی کافی ہے، اور دو کپڑے بھی کافی ہو جاتے ہیں، اور جسے تین میسر ہوں تو اس کے لیے مستحب یہی تین کپڑے ہیں۔ شافعی، احمد اور اسحاق بن راہویہ کا یہی قول ہے۔ وہ کہتے ہیں: عورت کو پانچ کپڑوں میں کفنایا جائے ۲؎۔

English Translation

Jabir bin Abdullah narrated: The Messenger of Allah shrouded Hamzah bin Abdul-Muttalib in one cloth of Namirah.
