Sahih Bukhari 1049 - The Book Of The Eclipses

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرَةَ بِنْتِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنَّ يَهُودِيَّةً جَاءَتْ تَسْأَلُهَا ، فَقَالَتْ لَهَا : أَعَاذَكِ اللَّهُ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ ، فَسَأَلَتْ عَائِشَةُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَيُعَذَّبُ النَّاسُ فِي قُبُورِهِمْ ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : عَائِذًا بِاللَّهِ مِنْ ذَلِكَ .

Urdu Translation

ہم سے عبداللہ بن مسلمہ قعنبی نے بیان کیا، ان سے امام مالک رحمہ اللہ نے، ان سے یحییٰ بن سعید نے، ان سے عمرہ بنت عبدالرحمٰن نے اور ان سے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی زوجہ مطہرہ عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے کہ   ایک یہودی عورت ان کے پاس مانگنے کے لیے آئی اور اس نے دعا دی کہ اللہ آپ کو قبر کے عذاب سے بچائے۔ عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے پوچھا کہ کیا لوگوں کو قبر میں عذاب ہو گا؟ اس پر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ میں اللہ تعالیٰ کی اس سے پناہ مانگتا ہوں۔

English Translation

Narrated `Amra bint `Abdur-Rahman: A Jewess came to ask `Aisha (the wife of the Prophet) about something. She said to her, May Allah give you refuge from the punishment of the grave. So `Aisha ' asked Allah's Apostle Would the people be punished in their graves? Allah's Apostle after seeking refuge with Allah from the punishment of the grave (and thus replied in the affirmative).
