Baab Zakat Ke Masail Ka Bayan

حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ فَضَالَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عُمَرَ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ ، عَنْ عِيَاضِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : كُنَّا نُخْرِجُ فِي عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ الْفِطْرِ صَاعًا مِنْ طَعَامٍ ، وَقَالَ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ : وَكَانَ طَعَامَنَا الشَّعِيرُ وَالزَّبِيبُ وَالْأَقِطُ وَالتَّمْرُ .

Urdu Translation

ہم سے معاذ بن فضالہ نے بیان کیا ‘ انہوں نے کہا کہ ہم سے ابوعمر حفص بن میسرہ نے بیان کیا ‘ ان سے زید بن اسلم نے بیان کیا ‘ ان سے عیاض بن عبداللہ بن سعد نے ‘ ان سے ابو سعید خدری رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ ہم نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے زمانہ میں عیدالفطر کے دن ( کھانے کے غلہ سے ) ایک صاع نکالتے تھے۔ ابوسعید رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ ہمارا کھانا ( ان دنوں ) جَو، زبیب، پنیر اور کھجور تھا۔

English Translation

Narrated Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri: In the lifetime of Allah's Apostle , we used to give one Sa' of food (edible things) as Sadaqat-ul-Fitr (to the poor). Our food used to be either of barley, raisins (dried grapes), cottage cheese or dates.
