Baab Aitkaf Ke Masail Ka Bayan

حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، نَذَرَ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ أَنْ يَعْتَكِفَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ ، قَالَ : أُرَاهُ قَالَ لَيْلَةً ، قَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : أَوْفِ بِنَذْرِكَ .

Urdu Translation

ہم سے عبید بن اسماعیل نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ ہم سے ابواسامہ نے بیان کیا، ان سے عبیداللہ نے، ان سے نافع نے، ان سے ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما نے کہ   عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے زمانہ جاہلیت میں مسجد الحرام میں اعتکاف کی نذر مانی تھی، عبید نے بیان کیا کہ میرا خیال ہے کہ انہوں نے رات بھر کا ذکر کیا تھا، تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ اپنی نذر پوری کر۔

English Translation

Narrated Ibn `Umar: that `Umar had vowed in the Pre-Islamic period to perform I`tikaf in Al-Masjid-al-Haram. (A subnarrator thinks that `Umar vowed to perform I`tikaf for one night.) Allah's Apostle said to `Umar, Fulfill your vow.
