Baab Khareed O Farookht Ke Masail Ka Bayan

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الضُّحَى ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ ، عَنْ خَبَّابٍ ، قَالَ : كُنْتُ قَيْنًا فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ ، وَكَانَ لِي عَلَى الْعَاصِ بْنِ وَائِلٍ دَيْنٌ فَأَتَيْتُهُ ، أَتَقَاضَاهُ ؟ قَالَ : لَا ، أُعْطِيكَ حَتَّى تَكْفُرَ بِمُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقُلْتُ : لَا أَكْفُرُ حَتَّى يُمِيتَكَ اللَّهُ ، ثُمَّ تُبْعَثَ ، قَالَ : دَعْنِي حَتَّى أَمُوتَ وَأُبْعَثَ ، فَسَأُوتَى مَالًا وَوَلَدًا فَأَقْضِيكَ ، فَنَزَلَتْ : أَفَرَأَيْتَ الَّذِي كَفَرَ بِآيَاتِنَا وَقَالَ لأُوتَيَنَّ مَالا وَوَلَدًا { 77 } أَطَّلَعَ الْغَيْبَ أَمِ اتَّخَذَ عِنْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ عَهْدًا { 78 } سورة مريم آية 77-78 .

Urdu Translation

ہم سے محمد بن بشار نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ ہم سے محمد بن ابی عدی نے بیان کیا، ان سے شعبہ نے، ان سے سلیمان نے، ان سے ابوالضحیٰ نے، ان سے مسروق نے اور ان سے خباب بن ارت رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہ   جاہلیت کے زمانہ میں میں لوہار کا کام کیا کرتا تھا۔ عاص بن وائل ( کافر ) پر میرا کچھ قرض تھا میں ایک دن اس پر تقاضا کرنے گیا۔ اس نے کہا کہ جب تک تو محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کا انکار نہیں کرے گا میں تیرا قرض نہیں دوں گا۔ میں نے جواب دیا کہ میں آپ کا انکار اس وقت تک نہیں کروں گا جب تک اللہ تعالیٰ تیری جان نہ لے لے، پھر تو دوبارہ اٹھایا جائے، اس نے کہا کہ پھر مجھے بھی مہلت دے کہ میں مر جاؤں، پھر دوبارہ اٹھایا جاؤں اور مجھے مال اور اولاد ملے اس وقت میں بھی تمہارا قرض ادا کر دوں گا۔ اس پر آیت نازل ہوئی «أفرأيت الذي كفر بآياتنا وقال لأوتين مالا وولدا * أطلع الغيب أم اتخذ عند الرحمن عهدا» ”کیا تم نے اس شخص کو دیکھا جس نے ہماری آیات کو نہ مانا اور کہا ( آخرت میں ) مجھے مال اور دولت دی جائے گی، کیا اسے غیب کی خبر ہے؟ یا اس نے اللہ تعالیٰ کے ہاں سے کوئی اقرار لے لیا ہے۔“

English Translation

Narrated Khabbab: I was a blacksmith in the Pre-Islamic period, and 'Asi bin Wail owed me some money, so I went to him to demand it. He said (to me), I will not pay you unless you disbelieve Muhammad. I said, I will not disbelieve till Allah kills you and then you get resurrected. He said, Leave me till I die and get resurrected, then I will be given wealth and children and I will pay you your debt. On that occasion it was revealed to the Prophet: 'Have you seen him who disbelieved in Our signs and says: Surely I will be given wealth and children? Has he known the unseen, or has he taken a covenant from the Beneficent (Allah)? (19.77- 78)
