Narrated Jabir: The Prophet forbade the selling of fruits unless they get ripe, and none of them should be sold except for Dinar or Dirham (i.e. money), except the 'Araya trees (the dates of which could be sold for dates).

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : نَهَى النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ بَيْعِ الثَّمَرِ حَتَّى يَطِيبَ ، وَلَا يُبَاعُ شَيْءٌ مِنْهُ إِلَّا بِالدِّينَارِ ، وَالدِّرْهَمِ إِلَّا الْعَرَايَا .

ہم سے یحییٰ بن سلیمان نے بیان کیا کہا کہ ہم سے عبداللہ بن وہب نے بیان کیا، انہیں ابن جریج نے خبر دی، انہیں عطاء اور ابوزبیر نے اور انہیں جابر رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے کھجور کے پکنے سے پہلے بیچنے سے منع کیا ہے اور یہ کہ اس میں سے ذرہ برابر بھی درہم و دینا کے سوا کسی اور چیز ( سوکھے پھل ) کے بدلے نہ بیچی جائے البتہ عریہ کی اجازت دی۔
