Baab Jihad Ka Bayan

اللَّيْثُ : حَدَّثَنِي جَعْفَرُ بْنُ رَبِيعَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ هُرْمُزَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ عَلَيْهِمَا السَّلَام : لَأَطُوفَنَّ اللَّيْلَةَ عَلَى مِائَةِ امْرَأَةٍ أَوْ تِسْعٍ وَتِسْعِينَ كُلُّهُنَّ يَأْتِي بِفَارِسٍ يُجَاهِدُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ، فَقَالَ : لَهُ صَاحِبُهُ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ ، فَلَمْ يَقُلْ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ ، فَلَمْ يَحْمِلْ مِنْهُنَّ إِلَّا امْرَأَةٌ وَاحِدَةٌ جَاءَتْ بِشِقِّ رَجُلٍ ، وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ لَوْ قَالَ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ لَجَاهَدُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فُرْسَانًا أَجْمَعُونَ .

Urdu Translation

لیث نے بیان کیا کہ مجھ سے جعفر بن ربیعہ نے بیان کیا ‘ ان سے عبداللہ بن ہرمز نے بیان کیا انہوں نے کہا کہ میں نے ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے سنا ‘   ان سے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ سلیمان بن داؤد علیہما السلام نے فرمایا آج رات اپنی سو یا ( راوی کو شک تھا ) ننانوے بیویوں کے پاس جاؤں گا اور ہر بیوی ایک ایک شہسوار جنے گی جو اللہ تعالیٰ کے راستے میں جہاد کریں گے۔ ان کے ساتھی نے کہا کہ ان شاءاللہ بھی کہہ لیجئے لیکن انہوں نے ان شاءاللہ نہیں کہا۔ چنانچہ صرف ایک بیوی حاملہ ہوئیں اور ان کے بھی آدھا بچہ پیدا ہوا۔ اس ذات کی قسم جس کے ہاتھ میں محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی جان ہے اگر سلیمان علیہ السلام اس وقت ان شاءاللہ کہہ لیتے تو ( تمام بیویاں حاملہ ہوتیں اور ) سب کے یہاں ایسے شہسوار بچے پیدا ہوتے جو اللہ کے راستے میں جہاد کرتے۔

English Translation

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle said, Once Solomon, son of David said, '(By Allah) Tonight I will have sexual intercourse with one hundred (or ninety-nine) women each of whom will give birth to a knight who will fight in Allah's Cause.' On that a (i.e. if Allah wills) but he did not say, 'Allah willing.' Therefore only one of those women conceived and gave birth to a half-man. By Him in Whose Hands Muhammad's life is, if he had said, Allah willing', (he would have begotten sons) all of whom would have been knights striving in Allah's Cause.
