حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَرْعَرَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ بْنِ سَهْلِ بْنِ حُنَيْفٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ , أَنَّ أُنَاسًا نَزَلُوا عَلَى حُكْمِ سَعْدِ بْنِ مُعَاذٍ فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَيْهِ , فَجَاءَ عَلَى حِمَارٍ فَلَمَّا بَلَغَ قَرِيبًا مِنَ الْمَسْجِدِ , قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : قُومُوا إِلَى خَيْرِكُمْ أَوْ سَيِّدِكُمْ ، فَقَالَ : يَا سَعْدُ إِنَّ هَؤُلَاءِ نَزَلُوا عَلَى حُكْمِكَ ، قَالَ : فَإِنِّي أَحْكُمُ فِيهِمْ أَنْ تُقْتَلَ مُقَاتِلَتُهُمْ وَتُسْبَى ذَرَارِيُّهُمْ ، قَالَ : حَكَمْتَ بِحُكْمِ اللَّهِ أَوْ بِحُكْمِ الْمَلِكِ .

Urdu Translation

ہم سے محمد بن عرعرہ نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے شعبہ نے بیان کیا، ان سے سعد بن ابراہیم نے، ان سے ابوامامہ بن سہل بن حنیف نے اور ان سے ابو سعید خدری رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ   ایک قوم ( یہود بنی قریظہ ) نے سعد بن معاذ رضی اللہ عنہ کو ثالث مان کر ہتھیار ڈال دیئے تو انہیں بلانے کے لیے آدمی بھیجا گیا اور وہ گدھے پر سوار ہو کر آئے۔ جب اس جگہ کے قریب پہنچے جسے ( نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ایام جنگ میں ) نماز پڑھنے کے لیے منتخب کیا ہوا تھا تو نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے صحابہ سے فرمایا کہ اپنے سب سے بہتر شخص کے لیے یا ( آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے یہ فرمایا ) اپنے سردار کو لینے کے لیے کھڑے ہو جاؤ۔ پھر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: اے سعد! انہوں نے تم کو ثالث مان کر ہتھیار ڈال دیئے ہیں۔ سعد رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا پھر میرا فیصلہ یہ ہے کہ ان کے جو لوگ جنگ کرنے والے ہیں انہیں قتل کر دیا جائے اور ان کی عورتوں، بچوں کو جنگی قیدی بنا لیا جائے۔ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا تم نے اللہ کے فیصلے کے مطابق فیصلہ کیا یا ( آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے یہ فرمایا کہ ) فرشتے کے حکم کے مطابق فیصلہ کیا ہے۔

English Translation

Narrated Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri: Some people (i.e. the Jews of Bani bin Quraiza) agreed to accept the verdict of Sa`d bin Mu`adh so the Prophet sent for him (i.e. Sa`d bin Mu`adh). He came riding a donkey, and when he approached the Mosque, the Prophet said, Get up for the best amongst you. or said, Get up for your chief. Then the Prophet said, O Sa`d! These people have agreed to accept your verdict. Sa`d said, I judge that their warriors should be killed and their children and women should be taken as captives. The Prophet said, You have given a judgment similar to Allah's Judgment (or the King's judgment).
