حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ , حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ خَازِمٍ , حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ , عَنْ أَبِيهِ , عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا : كَانَتْ قُرَيْشٌ وَمَنْ دَانَ دِينَهَا يَقِفُونَ بِالْمُزْدَلِفَةِ ، وَكَانُوا يُسَمَّوْنَ الْحُمْسَ وَكَانَ سَائِرُ الْعَرَبِ يَقِفُونَ بِعَرَفَاتٍ ، فَلَمَّا جَاءَ الْإِسْلَامُ أَمَرَ اللَّهُ نَبِيَّهُ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يَأْتِيَ عَرَفَاتٍ ، ثُمَّ يَقِفَ بِهَا ، ثُمَّ يُفِيضَ مِنْهَا ، فَذَلِكَ قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى ثُمَّ أَفِيضُوا مِنْ حَيْثُ أَفَاضَ النَّاسُ سورة البقرة آية 199 .

Urdu Translation

ہم سے علی بن عبداللہ نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا ہم سے محمد بن حازم نے بیان کیا، ان سے ہشام نے بیان کیا، ان سے ان کے والد نے اور ان سے ام المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے کہ   قریش اور ان کے طریقے کی پیروی کرنے والے عرب ( حج کے لیے ) مزدلفہ میں ہی وقوف کیا کرتے تھے، اس کا نام انہوں الحمس رکھا تھا اور باقی عرب عرفات کے میدان میں وقوف کرتے تھے۔ پھر جب اسلام آیا تو اللہ تعالیٰ نے اپنے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو حکم دیا کہ آپ عرفات میں آئیں اور وہیں وقوف کریں اور پھر وہاں سے مزدلفہ آئیں۔ آیت «ثم أفيضوا من حيث أفاض الناس‏» سے یہی مراد ہے۔

English Translation

Narrated `Aisha: The Quraish people and those who embraced their religion, used to stay at Muzdalifa and used to call themselves Al-Hums, while the rest of the Arabs used to stay at `Arafat. When Islam came, Allah ordered His Prophet to go to `Arafat and stay at it, and then pass on from there, and that is what is meant by the Statement of Allah:-- Then depart from the place whence all the people depart...... (2.199)
