Narrated Abu Huraira: Whenever Allah's Messenger intended to invoke evil upon somebody or invoke good upon somebody, he used to invoke (Allah after bowing (in the prayer). Sometimes after saying, Allah hears him who sends his praises to Him, all praise is for You, O our Lord, he would say, O Allah. Save Al-Walid bin Al-Walid and Salama bin Hisham, and `Aiyash bin Abu Rabi`a. O Allah! Inflict Your Severe Torture on Mudar (tribe) and strike them with (famine) years like the years of Joseph. The Prophet used to say in a loud voice, and he also used to say in some of his Fajr prayers, O Allah! Curse soand- so and so-and-so. naming some of the Arab tribes till Allah revealed:-- Not for you (O Muhammad) (but for Allah) is the decision. (3.128)

حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ وَأَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ إِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَدْعُوَ عَلَى أَحَدٍ ، أَوْ يَدْعُوَ لِأَحَدٍ ، قَنَتَ بَعْدَ الرُّكُوعِ ، فَرُبَّمَا قَالَ إِذَا قَالَ : سَمِعَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ ، اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّنَا لَكَ الْحَمْدُ ، اللَّهُمَّ أَنْجِ الْوَلِيدَ بْنَ الْوَلِيدِ ، وَسَلَمَةَ بْنَ هِشَامٍ ، وَعَيَّاشَ بْنَ أَبِي رَبِيعَةَ ، اللَّهُمَّ اشْدُدْ وَطْأَتَكَ عَلَى مُضَرَ ، وَاجْعَلْهَا سِنِينَ كَسِنِي يُوسُفَ يَجْهَرُ بِذَلِكَ ، وَكَانَ يَقُولُ فِي بَعْضِ صَلَاتِهِ فِي صَلَاةِ الْفَجْرِ : اللَّهُمَّ الْعَنْ فُلَانًا وَفُلَانًا لِأَحْيَاءٍ مِنْ الْعَرَبِ ، حَتَّى أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ لَيْسَ لَكَ مِنَ الأَمْرِ شَيْءٌ سورة آل عمران آية 128 الْآيَةَ .

ہم سے موسیٰ بن اسماعیل نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا ہم سے ابراہیم بن سعد نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے ابن شہاب نے بیان کیا، ان سے سعید بن مسیب اور ابوسلمہ بن عبدالرحمٰن نے اور ان سے ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم جب کسی پر بددعا کرنا چاہتے یا کسی کے لیے دعا کرنا چاہتے تو رکوع کے بعد کرتے «سمع الله لمن حمده،‏‏‏‏ اللهم ربنا لك الحمد» کے بعد۔ بعض اوقات آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے یہ دعا بھی کی ”اے اللہ! ولید بن ولید، سلمہ بن ہشام اور عیاش بن ابی ربیعہ کو نجات دے، اے اللہ! مضر والوں کو سختی کے ساتھ پکڑ لے اور ان میں ایسی قحط سالی لا، جیسی یوسف علیہ السلام کے زمانے میں ہوئی تھی۔“ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم بلند آواز سے یہ دعا کرتے اور آپ نماز فجر کی بعض رکعت میں یہ دعا کرتے۔ اے اللہ، فلاں اور فلاں کو اپنی رحمت سے دور کر دے۔ عرب کے چند خاص قبائل کے حق میں آپ ( یہ بددعا کرتے تھے ) یہاں تک کہ اللہ تعالیٰ نے آیت نازل کی «ليس لك من الأمر شىء‏» کہ ”آپ کو اس امر میں کوئی دخل نہیں۔“
