حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي مَنْصُورٌ ، وَسُلَيْمَانُ ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي مَيْسَرَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ . ح قَالَ :وَحَدَّثَنِي وَاصِلٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ أَوْ سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَيُّ الذَّنْبِ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ أَكْبَرُ ؟ قَالَ : أَنْ تَجْعَلَ لِلَّهِ نِدًّا وَهُوَ خَلَقَكَ ، قُلْتُ ، ثُمَّ أَيٌّ ، قَالَ : ثُمَّ أَنْ تَقْتُلَ وَلَدَكَ خَشْيَةَ أَنْ يَطْعَمَ مَعَكَ ، قُلْتُ : ثُمَّ أَيٌّ ، قَالَ : أَنْ تُزَانِيَ بِحَلِيلَةِ جَارِكَ ، قَالَ : وَنَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ تَصْدِيقًا لِقَوْلِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : وَالَّذِينَ لا يَدْعُونَ مَعَ اللَّهِ إِلَهًا آخَرَ وَلا يَقْتُلُونَ النَّفْسَ الَّتِي حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ إِلا بِالْحَقِّ وَلا يَزْنُونَ سورة الفرقان آية 68 .

Urdu Translation

ہم سے مسدد بن مسرہد نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے یحییٰ نے بیان کیا، ان سے سفیان ثوری نے بیان کیا کہ مجھ سے منصور اور سلیمان نے بیان کیا، ان سے ابووائل نے، ان سے ابومیسرہ نے اور ان سے عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ نے (سفیان ثوری نے کہا کہ) اور مجھ سے واصل نے بیان کیا اور ان سے ابووائل نے اور ان سے عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ   میں نے پوچھا، یا ( آپ نے یہ فرمایا کہ ) رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے پوچھا گیا کہ کون سا گناہ اللہ کے نزدیک سب سے بڑا ہے؟ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا یہ کہ تم اللہ کا کسی کو شریک ٹھہراؤ حالانکہ اسی نے تمہیں پیدا کیا ہے۔ میں نے پوچھا اس کے بعد کون سا؟ فرمایا کہ اس کے بعد سب سے بڑا گناہ یہ ہے کہ تم اپنی اولاد کو اس خوف سے مار ڈالو کہ وہ تمہاری روزی میں شریک ہو گی۔ میں نے پوچھا اس کے بعد کون سا؟ فرمایا کہ اس کے بعد یہ کہ تم اپنے پڑوسی کی بیوی سے زنا کرو۔ راوی نے بیان کیا کہ یہ آیت نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے فرمان کی تصدیق کے لیے نازل ہوئی «والذين لا يدعون مع الله إلها آخر ولا يقتلون النفس التي حرم الله إلا بالحق‏» کہ ”اور جو اللہ کے ساتھ کسی اور معبود کو نہیں پکارتے اور جس ( انسان ) کی جان کو اللہ نے حرام قرار دیا ہے اسے قتل نہیں کرتے مگر ہاں حق پر اور نہ وہ زنا کرتے ہیں۔“

English Translation

Narrated `Abdullah: I or somebody, asked Allah's Messenger Which is the biggest sin in the Sight of Allah? He said, That you set up a rival (in worship) to Allah though He Alone created you. I asked, What is next? He said, Then, that you kill your son, being afraid that he may share your meals with you. I asked, What is next? He said, That you commit illegal sexual intercourse with the wife of your neighbor. Then the following Verse was revealed to confirm the statement of Allah's Messenger : Those who invoke not with Allah, any other god, nor kill life as Allah has forbidden except for just cause, nor commit illegal sexual intercourse. (25.68)
