حَدَّثَنَا آدَمُ ، حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ عَبِيدَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : جَاءَ حَبْرٌ مِنَ الْأَحْبَارِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : يَا مُحَمَّدُ ، إِنَّا نَجِدُ أَنَّ اللَّهَ يَجْعَلُ السَّمَوَاتِ عَلَى إِصْبَعٍ ، وَالْأَرَضِينَ عَلَى إِصْبَعٍ ، وَالشَّجَرَ عَلَى إِصْبَعٍ ، وَالْمَاءَ وَالثَّرَى عَلَى إِصْبَعٍ ، وَسَائِرَ الْخَلَائِقِ عَلَى إِصْبَعٍ ، فَيَقُولُ : أَنَا الْمَلِكُ ، فَضَحِكَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَتَّى بَدَتْ نَوَاجِذُهُ تَصْدِيقًا لِقَوْلِ الْحَبْرِ ، ثُمَّ قَرَأَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : وَمَا قَدَرُوا اللَّهَ حَقَّ قَدْرِهِ وَالأَرْضُ جَمِيعًا قَبْضَتُهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَالسَّمَوَاتُ مَطْوِيَّاتٌ بِيَمِينِهِ سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ سورة الزمر آية 67 .

Urdu Translation

ہم سے آدم بن ابی ایاس نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے شیبان بن عبدالرحمٰن نے بیان کیا، ان سے منصور نے، ان سے ابراہیم نخعی نے، ان سے عبیدہ سلمانی نے اور ان سے عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہ   علماء یہود میں سے ایک شخص رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس آیا اور کہا: اے محمد! ہم تورات میں پاتے ہیں کہ اللہ تعالیٰ آسمانوں کو ایک انگلی پر رکھ لے گا اس طرح زمین کو ایک انگلی پر، درختوں کو ایک انگلی پر، پانی اور مٹی کو ایک انگلی پر اور تمام مخلوقات کو ایک انگلی پر، پھر فرمائے گا کہ میں ہی بادشاہ ہوں۔ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم اس پر ہنس دیئے اور آپ کے سامنے کے دانت دکھائی دینے لگے۔ آپ کا یہ ہنسنا اس یہودی عالم کی تصدیق میں تھا۔ پھر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اس آیت کی تلاوت کی «وما قدروا الله حق قدره والأرض جميعا قبضته يوم القيامة والسموات مطويات بيمينه سبحانه وتعالى عما يشركون‏» ”اور ان لوگوں نے اللہ کی عظمت نہ کی جیسی عظمت کرنا چاہئے تھی اور حال یہ کہ ساری زمین اسی کی مٹھی میں ہو گی قیامت کے دن اور آسمان اس کے داہنے ہاتھ میں لپٹے ہوں گے، وہ ان لوگوں کے شرک سے بالکل پاک اور بلند تر ہے۔“

English Translation

Narrated `Abdullah: A (Jewish) Rabbi came to Allah's Messenger and he said, O Muhammad! We learn that Allah will put all the heavens on one finger, and the earths on one finger, and the trees on one finger, and the water and the dust on one finger, and all the other created beings on one finger. Then He will say, 'I am the King.' Thereupon the Prophet smiled so that his pre-molar teeth became visible, and that was the confirmation of the Rabbi. Then Allah's Messenger recited: 'No just estimate have they made of Allah such as due to Him.' (39.67)
