Narrated Ibn `Abbas: If someone says to his wife, You are unlawful to me. he must make an expiation (for his oath). Ibn `Abbas added: There is for you in Allah's Messenger , an excellent example to follow.

حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ فَضَالَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى ، عَنْ ابْنِ حَكِيمٍ هُوَ يَعْلَى بْنُ حَكِيمٍ الثَّقَفِيُّ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، أَنَّ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، قَالَ : فِي الْحَرَامِ يُكَفَّرُ ، وَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ : 0 لَقَدْ كَانَ لَكُمْ فِي رَسُولِ اللَّهِ إِسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ 0 .

ہم سے معاذ بن فضالہ نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے ہشام بن عروہ نے بیان کیا، ان سے یحییٰ بن سعید قطان نے، ان سے ابن حکیم نے، ان سے سعید بن جبیر نے اور ان سے ابن عباس نے کہا کہ   اگر کسی نے اپنے اوپر کوئی حلال چیز حرام کر لی تو اس کا کفارہ دینا ہو گا۔ ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما نے کہا «لقد كان لكم في رسول الله إسوة حسنة‏» یعنی ”بیشک تمہارے لیے تمہارے رسول اللہ کی زندگی میں بہترین نمونہ ہے۔“
