Narrated Anas bin Malik: Alcoholic drinks were prohibited. At that time these drinks used to be prepared from unripe and ripe dates.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الْمُقَدَّمِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا يُوسُفُ أَبُو مَعْشَرٍ الْبَرَّاءُ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ سَعِيدَ بْنَ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي بَكْرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، أَنَّ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ حَدَّثَهُمْ أَنَّ الْخَمْرَ حُرِّمَتْ وَالْخَمْرُ يَوْمَئِذٍ الْبُسْرُ وَالتَّمْرُ .

ہم سے محمد بن ابی بکر مقدمی نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا ہم سے یوسف ابومعشر براء نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا کہ میں نے سعید بن عبداللہ سے سنا، انہوں نے کہا کہ مجھ سے بکر بن عبداللہ نے بیان کیا اور انہوں نے کہا کہ مجھ سے انس بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ جب شراب حرام کی گئی تو وہ کچی اور پختہ کھجوروں سے تیار کی جاتی تھی۔
