Narrated Ubai bin Ka`b: Allah's Apostle said, Some poetry contains wisdom.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعَيْبٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، أَنَّ مَرْوَانَ بْنَ الْحَكَمِ ، أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ يَغُوثَ ، أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ أُبَيَّ بْنَ كَعْبٍ ، أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : إِنَّ مِنَ الشِّعْرِ حِكْمَةً .

ہم سے ابوالیمان نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا ہم کو شعیب نے خبر دی، ان سے زہری نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا مجھ کو ابوبکر بن عبدالرحمٰن نے خبر دی، انہیں مروان بن حکم نے خبر دی، انہیں عبدالرحمٰن بن اسود بن عبد یغوث نے خبر دی، انہیں ابی بن کعب رضی اللہ عنہ نے خبر دی کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا ”بعض شعروں میں دانائی ہوتی ہے۔“
