حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو غَسَّانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ سَهْلٍ ، قَالَ : أُتِيَ بِالْمُنْذِرِ بْنِ أَبِي أُسَيْدٍ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حِينَ وُلِدَ ، فَوَضَعَهُ عَلَى فَخِذِهِ وَأَبُو أُسَيْدٍ جَالِسٌ ، فَلَهَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِشَيْءٍ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ ، فَأَمَرَ أَبُو أُسَيْدٍ بِابْنِهِ ، فَاحْتُمِلَ مِنْ فَخِذِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَاسْتَفَاقَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : أَيْنَ الصَّبِيُّ ، فَقَالَ أَبُو أُسَيْدٍ : قَلَبْنَاهُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ . قَالَ : مَا اسْمُهُ ؟ قَالَ : فُلَانٌ . قَالَ : وَلَكِنْ أَسْمِهِ الْمُنْذِرَ ، فَسَمَّاهُ يَوْمَئِذٍ الْمُنْذِرَ .

Urdu Translation

ہم سے سعید بن ابی مریم نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے ابوغسان نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ مجھ سے ابوحازم نے بیان کیا اور ان سے سہل رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ   منذر بن ابی اسید رضی اللہ عنہ کی ولادت ہوئی تو انہیں نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس لایا گیا۔ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے بچہ کو اپنی ران پر رکھ لیا۔ ابواسید رضی اللہ عنہ بیٹھے ہوئے تھے۔ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کسی چیز میں جو سامنے تھی مصروف ہو گئے ( اور بچہ کی طرف توجہ ہٹ گئی ) ۔ ابواسید رضی اللہ عنہ نے بچہ کے متعلق حکم دیا اور نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی ران سے اٹھا لیا گیا۔ پھر جب نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم متوجہ ہوئے تو فرمایا کہ بچہ کہاں ہے؟ ابواسید رضی اللہ عنہ نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! ہم نے اسے گھر بھیج دیا۔ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے پوچھا: اس کا نام کیا ہے؟ عرض کیا کہ فلاں۔ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا، بلکہ اس کا نام منذر ہے۔ چنانچہ اسی دن نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ان کا یہی نام منذر رکھا۔

English Translation

Narrated Sahl: When Al-Mundhir bin Abu Usaid was born, he was brought to the Prophet who placed him on his thigh. While Abu Usaid was sitting there, the Prophet was busy with something in his hands so Abu Usaid told someone to take his son from the thigh of the Prophet . When the Prophet finished his job (with which he was busy), he said, Where is the boy? Abu Usaid replied, We have sent him home. The Prophet said, What is his name? Abu Usaid said, (His name is) so-and-so. The Prophet said, No, his name is Al-Mundhir. So he called him Al-Mundhir from that day.
