Narrated 'Alqama: I asked `Aisha, mother of the believers, O mother of the believers! How were the deeds of the Prophet? Did he use to do extra deeds of worship on special days? She said, No, but his deeds were regular and constant, and who among you is able to do what the Prophet was able to do (i.e. in worshipping Allah)?

حَدَّثَنِي عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ ، قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ عَائِشَةَ ، قُلْتُ : يَا أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ، كَيْفَ كَانَ عَمَلُ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، هَلْ كَانَ يَخُصُّ شَيْئًا مِنَ الْأَيَّامِ ؟ قَالَتْ : لَا كَانَ عَمَلُهُ دِيمَةً ، وَأَيُّكُمْ يَسْتَطِيعُ مَا كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَسْتَطِيعُ .

مجھ سے عثمان بن ابی شیبہ نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا ہم سے جریر نے بیان کیا، ان سے منصور نے بیان کیا، ان سے ابراہیم نخعی نے اور ان سے علقمہ نے بیان کیا کہ   میں نے ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے پوچھا: ام المؤمنین! نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کیونکر عبادت کیا کرتے تھے کیا آپ نے کچھ خاص دن خاص کر رکھے تھے؟ بتلایا کہ نہیں نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے عمل میں ہمیشگی ہوتی تھی اور تم میں کون ہے جو ان عملوں کی طاقت رکھتا ہو جن کی نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم طاقت رکھتے تھے۔
