Narrated Abu Musa: A man embraced Islam and then reverted back to Judaism. Mu`adh bin Jabal came and saw the man with Abu Musa. Mu`adh asked, What is wrong with this (man)? Abu Musa replied, He embraced Islam and then reverted back to Judaism. Mu`adh said, I will not sit down unless you kill him (as it is) the verdict of Allah and His Apostle.

حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَحْبُوبُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ ، حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَسْلَمَ ، ثُمَّ تَهَوَّدَ ، فَأَتَى مُعَاذُ بْنُ جَبَلٍ وَهُوَ عِنْدَ أَبِي مُوسَى ، فَقَالَ : مَا لِهَذَا ؟ ، قَالَ : أَسْلَمَ ثُمَّ تَهَوَّدَ ، قَالَ : لَا أَجْلِسُ حَتَّى أَقْتُلَهُ قَضَاءُ اللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .

ہم سے عبداللہ بن صباح نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے محبوب بن الحسن نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے خالد نے بیان کیا، ان سے حمید بن ہلال نے، ان سے ابوبردہ نے اور ان سے ابوموسیٰ رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہ   ایک شخص اسلام لایا پھر یہودی ہو گیا پھر معاذ بن جبل رضی اللہ عنہ آئے اور وہ شخص ابوموسیٰ اشعری رضی اللہ عنہ کے پاس تھا۔ انہوں نے پوچھا اس کا کیا معاملہ ہے؟ ابوموسیٰ رضی اللہ عنہ نے جواب دیا کہ اسلام لایا پھر یہودی ہو گیا، پھر انہوں نے کہا کہ جب تک میں اسے قتل نہ کر لو نہیں بیٹھوں گا، یہ اللہ اور اس کے رسول صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کا فیصلہ ہے۔
