Narrated `Adi bin Hatim: Allah's Apostle said, There will be none among you but his Lord will talk to him, and there will be no interpreter between him and Allah. He will look to his right and see nothing but his deeds which he has sent forward, and will look to his left and see nothing but his deeds which he has sent forward, and will look in front of him and see nothing but the (Hell) Fire facing him. So save yourself from the (Hell) Fire even with half a date (given in charity). Al-A`mash said: `Amr bin Murra said, Khaithama narrated the same and added, '..even with a good word.'

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ خَيْثَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ حَاتِمٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : مَا مِنْكُمْ أَحَدٌ إِلَّا سَيُكَلِّمُهُ رَبُّهُ لَيْسَ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَهُ تُرْجُمَانٌ ، فَيَنْظُرُ أَيْمَنَ مِنْهُ فَلَا يَرَى إِلَّا مَا قَدَّمَ مِنْ عَمَلِهِ ، وَيَنْظُرُ أَشْأَمَ مِنْهُ فَلَا يَرَى إِلَّا مَا قَدَّمَ ، وَيَنْظُرُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ فَلَا يَرَى إِلَّا النَّارَ تِلْقَاءَ وَجْهِهِ ، فَاتَّقُوا النَّارَ وَلَوْ بِشِقِّ تَمْرَةٍ ، قَالَ الْأَعْمَشُ ، وَحَدَّثَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ مُرَّةَ ، عَنْ خَيْثَمَةَ مِثْلَهُ ، وَزَادَ فِيهِ وَلَوْ بِكَلِمَةٍ طَيِّبَةٍ .

ہم سے علی بن حجر نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم کو عیسیٰ بن یونس نے خبر دی، انہیں اعمش نے، انہیں خیثمہ نے اور ان سے عدی بن حاتم رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا ”تم میں سے ہر شخص سے تمہارا رب اس طرح بات کرے گا کہ تمہارے اور اس کے درمیان کوئی ترجمان نہیں ہو گا وہ اپنے دائیں طرف دیکھے گا اور اسے اپنے اعمال کے سوا اور کچھ نظر نہیں آئے گا اور وہ اپنے بائیں طرف دیکھے گا اور اسے اپنے اعمال کے سوا کچھ نظر نہیں آئے گا۔ پھر اپنے سامنے دیکھے گا تو اپنے سامنے جہنم کے سوا اور کوئی چیز نہ دیکھے گا۔ پس جہنم سے بچو خواہ کھجور کے ایک ٹکڑے ہی کے ذریعہ ہو سکے۔“ اعمش نے بیان کیا کہ مجھ سے عمرو بن مرہ نے بیان کیا، ان سے خیشمہ نے اسی طرح اور اس میں یہ لفظ زیادہ کئے کہ ( جہنم سے بچو ) خواہ ایک اچھی بات ہی کے ذریعہ ہو۔
