Ibn 'Abbas reported: Dhikr (mentioning the name of Allah) in a loud voice after obligatory prayers was (a common practice) during the lifetime of the Messenger of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) ; and when I heard that I came to knew that they (the people) had finished the prayer

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَاتِمٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، ح قَالَ: وَحَدَّثَنِي إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ - وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ - قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ، أَنَّ أَبَا مَعْبَدٍ مَوْلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، أَخْبَرَهُ، أَنَّ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ أَخْبَرَهُ: «أَنَّ رَفْعَ الصَّوْتِ بِالذِّكْرِ حِينَ يَنْصَرِفُ النَّاسُ مِنَ الْمَكْتُوبَةِ، كَانَ عَلَى عَهْدِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ» وَأَنَّهُ قَالَ: قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ: «كُنْتُ أَعْلَمُ إِذَا انْصَرَفُوا بِذَلِكَ، إِذَا سَمِعْتُهُ»

  ابن جریج نے کہا : مجھے عمرو بن دینار نے بتایا کہ ابن عباس ‌رضی ‌اللہ ‌عنہ ‌ ‌ کے آزاد کردہ ےغلام ابو معبد نے انھیں بتایا کہ حضرت عبد اللہ بن عباس ‌رضی ‌اللہ ‌عنہ ‌ ‌ نے انھیں خبر دی کہ جب لوگ فرض نماز سے سلام پھیرتے تو اس کے بعد بلند آواز سے ذکر کرنا نبی اکرمﷺ کے دور میں ( رائج ) تھا اور ابو معبد ) نے کہا : ابن عباس ‌رضی ‌اللہ ‌عنہ ‌ ‌ نے فرمایا : جب لوگ سلام پھیرتے تو مجھے اس بات کا علم اسی ( بلندآواز کے ساتھ کیے گئے ذکر ) سے ہوتا تھا ۔
