A'isha reported: When the Messenger of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) pronounced salutation, he salutation longer than it took him to say: O Allah: Thou art Peace, and peace comes from Thee, blessed art Thou, Possessor of Glory and ]Honour; and in the narration of Ibn Numair the words are: O Possessor of Glory and Honour.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، وَابْنُ، نُمَيْرٍ قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم إِذَا سَلَّمَ لَمْ يَقْعُدْ إِلاَّ مِقْدَارَ مَا يَقُولُ ‏ ‏ اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ السَّلاَمُ وَمِنْكَ السَّلاَمُ تَبَارَكْتَ ذَا الْجَلاَلِ وَالإِكْرَامِ ‏ ‏ ‏.‏ وَفِي رِوَايَةِ ابْنِ نُمَيْرٍ ‏ ‏ يَا ذَا الْجَلاَلِ وَالإِكْرَامِ ‏ ‏ ‏.‏

  ابو بکر بن ابی شبیہ اور ابن نمیر نے حدیث بیان کی ، کہا ہمیں ابو معاویہ نے عاصم سے حدیث سنائی ، انھوں نے عبداللہ بن حارث سے اور انھوں نے حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہم سے روایت کی ، کہا رسول اللہ ﷺ سلام پھیرنے کے بعد صرف یہ ذکر پڑھنے تک ہی ( قبلہ رخ ) بیٹھتے : اللہم ! انت السلام ومنک السلام تبارکت ذاالجلال والاکرام ’’اے اللہ ! تو ہی سلام ہے اور سلامتی تیری ہی طرف سے ہے ، تو صاحب رفعت وبرکت ہے ، اے جلال والے اور عزت بخشنے والے ! ‘ ‘ ابن نمیر کی روایت میں : یا ذالجلال والاکرام ( یا کے اضافے کے ساتھ ) ہے
