Sahih Muslim 2369 - The Book Of Zakat

و حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا حَاتِمٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ إِسْمَعِيلَ عَنْ يَزِيدَ يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي عُبَيْدٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عُمَيْرًا مَوْلَى آبِي اللَّحْمِ قَالَ أَمَرَنِي مَوْلَايَ أَنْ أُقَدِّدَ لَحْمًا فَجَاءَنِي مِسْكِينٌ فَأَطْعَمْتُهُ مِنْهُ فَعَلِمَ بِذَلِكَ مَوْلَايَ فَضَرَبَنِي فَأَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لَهُ فَدَعَاهُ فَقَالَ لِمَ ضَرَبْتَهُ فَقَالَ يُعْطِي طَعَامِي بِغَيْرِ أَنْ آمُرَهُ فَقَالَ الْأَجْرُ بَيْنَكُمَا

Urdu Translation

  یزید بن ابی عبید نے کہا : میں نے آبی اللحم رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کے آزاد کردہ غلام عمیر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے سنا ، انھوں نے کہا : مجھے میرے آقا نے گوشت کے ٹکڑے کرکے خشک کرنے کا حکم دیا ، میرے پاس ایک مسکین آگیا تو میں نے اس میں سے کچھ کھلا دیا ۔ میرے آقا کو اس کا پتہ چل گیا ۔ تو انھوں نے مجھے مارا ۔ اس پر میں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوا اور آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو یہ بات بتائی ۔ آپ نے اسے بلا کر پوچھا : " تم نے اسے کیوں مارا؟ " اس نے کہا : میرے حکم کے بغیر میراکھانا ( دوسروں کو ) دیتا ہے ۔ توآپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نےفرمایا : " اجر تم دونوں کے درمیان ہوگا ۔ " ( تم دونوں کو ملے گا )

English Translation

Umair, the freed slave of Abi'l-Lahm, said: My master commanded me to cut some meat in strips; (as I was doing it) a poor man came to me and I gave him some of it to eat. My master came to know of that, and he beat me. I came to the Messenger of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) and narrated it to him. He (the Holy Prophet) summoned him and said: Why did you beat him? He (Abi'l-Lahm) said: He gives away my food without being commanded to do so. Upon this he (the Holy Prophet) said: The reward would be shared by you two.
