وحَدَّثَنِي حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى التُّجِيبِيُّ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ الْمُسَيِّبِ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: قَالَ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: كُلُّ عَمَلِ ابْنِ آدَمَ لَهُ، إِلَّا الصِّيَامَ، هُوَ لِي وَأَنَا أَجْزِي بِهِ «فَوَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ، لَخُلْفَةُ فَمِ الصَّائِمِ، أَطْيَبُ عِنْدَ اللهِ مِنْ رِيحِ الْمِسْكِ»

Urdu Translation

  ابن شہاب سے روایت ہے ، کہا : سعید بن مسیب نے مجھے بتایا کہ انھوں نے حضرت ابو ہریرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے سنا ، انھوں نے کہا : میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو کہتے ہوئے سنا ، اللہ عزوجل نے فرمایا : ابن آدم کے تمام اعمال اس کے لئے ہیں سوائے روزے کے ، وہ میرے لئے ہے اور میں ہی اس کی جزاد دوں گا ۔ اس ذات کی قسم جس کے ہاتھ میں محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی جان ہے!روزہ د ار کے منہ کی بو ا للہ کےنزدیک کستوری کی خوشبو سے زیادہ پسندیدہ ہے ۔ "

English Translation

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) as saying: Allah, the Majestic and the Exalted, said: Every act of the son of Adam is for him except fasting. It is done for My sake, and I will give a reward for it. By Allah in Whose Hand is the life of Muhammad, the breath of the observer of fast is sweeter to Allah than the fragrance of musk.
