وحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، عَنِ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي الْعَلَاءِ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لِرَجُلٍ: «هَلْ صُمْتَ مِنْ سُرَرِ هَذَا الشَّهْرِ شَيْئًا؟» قَالَ: لَا، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «فَإِذَا أَفْطَرْتَ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ، فَصُمْ يَوْمَيْنِ مَكَانَهُ»

Urdu Translation

  ابو علا ء نے مطر ف سے اور انھوں نے حضرت حصین رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت کی کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ایک آدمی سے پو چھا : کیا تم نے اس مہینے کے دورا ن میں کچھ روزے رکھے ہیں ؟ اس نے جواب دیا : نہیں ۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فر ما یا : " جب تم تمضا ن کے روزے ختم کر لو تو اس کی جگہ دو رازے رکھ لینا ۔

English Translation

Imran b. Husain (Allah be pleased with them) reported that Allah's Apostle ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) said to a person: Did you observe any fast in the middle of this month (Sha'ban)? He said: No. Thereupon the Messenger of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) said: Fast for two days instead of (one fast) when you have completed (fasts of) Ramadan.
