وحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، وَعَمْرٌو النَّاقِدُ، جَمِيعًا عَنِ ابْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ، قَالَ عَمْرٌو: حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ عَمْرٍو، سَمِعَ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ مُطْعِمٍ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ مُطْعِمٍ، قَالَ: أَضْلَلْتُ بَعِيرًا لِي، فَذَهَبْتُ أَطْلُبُهُ يَوْمَ عَرَفَةَ، فَرَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَاقِفًا مَعَ النَّاسِ بِعَرَفَةَ، فَقُلْتُ: وَاللهِ، إِنَّ هَذَا لَمِنَ الْحُمْسِ، فَمَا شَأْنُهُ هَاهُنَا؟ وَكَانَتْ قُرَيْشٌ تُعَدُّ مِنَ الْحُمْسِ

Urdu Translation

  حمد بن جبیر بن معطم نے اپنے والد حضرت جبیر بن معطم رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے حدیث بیان کی ، انھوں نے کہا : میں نے اپنا ایک اونٹ کھو دیا ، میں عرفہ کے دن اسے تلاش کرنے کے لیے نکلا تو میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو لوگوں کے ساتھ عرفات میں کھڑے دیکھا ، میں نے کہا : اللہ کی قسم!یہ ( محمد رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) تو اہل حمس میں سے ہیں ، آپ کا یہاں ( عرفات میں ) کیا کام؟ ( کیونکہ ) قریش حمس میں شمار ہوتے تھے ( اورآپ قریشی ہی تھے ۔ )

English Translation

Jubair. b. Mut'im reported: I lost my camel and went in search of it on the day of 'Arafa, and I saw the Messenger of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) staying along with people in 'Ara'fit. Thereupon I said: By Allah, he is among the Hums (Quraish) ; what has happened to him that he has come to this (place)? The Quraish were counted among Hums.
