This hadith is narrated on the authority of Abu al-Ahwas with another chain of transmitters and a slight variation of words.

) وَحَدَّثَنَاهُ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، وَابْنُ بَشَّارٍ، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، ح وحَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، قَالَا: جَمِيعًا حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، ح وحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، ح وحَدَّثَنِي زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، جَمِيعًا عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، ح وحَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنٌ الْجُعْفِيُّ، عَنْ زَائِدَةَ، كُلُّهُمْ عَنْ أَشْعَثَ بْنِ أَبِي الشَّعْثَاءِ، بِإِسْنَادِ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ كَمَعْنَى حَدِيثِهِ، غَيْرَ أَنَّهُمْ قَالُوا مِنَ الْمَجَاعَةِ

  شعبہ ، سفیان اور زائدہ سب نے اشعث بن ابو شعثاء سے ابواحوص کی سند کے ساتھ اسی کی حدیث کے ہم معنی حدیث بیان کی ، مگر انہوں نے ( بھی ) من المجاعة کے الفاظ کہے
