حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، وَابْنُ بَشَّارٍ، قَالَ ابْنُ الْمُثَنَّى: حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ يُونُسَ بْنَ جُبَيْرٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ، يَقُولُ: طَلَّقْتُ امْرَأَتِي وَهِيَ حَائِضٌ، فَأَتَى عُمَرُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ لَهُ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لِيُرَاجِعْهَا، فَإِذَا طَهُرَتْ فَإِنْ شَاءَ فَلْيُطَلِّقْهَا»، قَالَ: فَقُلْتُ لِابْنِ عُمَرَ: أَفَاحْتَسَبْتَ بِهَا؟ قَالَ: «مَا يَمْنَعُهُ، أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ عَجَزَ، وَاسْتَحْمَقَ»

Urdu Translation

  قتادہ سے روایت ہے انہوں نے کہا : میں نے یونس بن جبیر سے سنا انہوں نے کہا میں نے ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہ کو یہ کہتے ہوئے سنا : میں نے اپنی بیوی کو حالت حیض میں طلاق دی ، اس پر حضرت عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوئے اور آپ کو یہ بات بتائی تو نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا : وہ اس سے رجوع کرے ، اس کے بعد جب وہ پاک ہو جائے تو اگر وہ چاہے اسے طلاق دے دے ۔ ( یونس نے ) کہا : میں نے ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہ سے پوچھا : کیا آپ اس طلاق کو شمار کریں گے؟ انہوں نے کہا : اس سے کیا چیز مانع ہے تمہاری کیا رائے ہے اگر وہ خود ( صحیح طریقہ اختیار کرنے سے ) عاجز رہا اور نادانی والا کام کیا ( تو طلاق کیوں شمار نہ ہو گی

English Translation

Ibn 'Umar (Allah be pleased with them) reported: I divorced my wife while she was in the state of menses. 'Umar (Allah he pleased wish him) came toAllah's Apostle ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) and made mention of that to him, whereupon Allah's Apostle ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) told that be should take her back, and when she is pure he may divorce her. if he would so wish. I (one of the narrators) said to Ibn 'Umar (Allah be pleased with them): Did you count (this pronouncement of divorce) in her case? He said: What (after all) prevents him from doing so? Do you find him (Ibn Umar) either helpless or foolish?
