حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ أَبِي أَنَسٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتَ قَيْسٍ، فَأَخْبَرَتْنِي أَنَّ زَوْجَهَا الْمَخْزُومِيَّ طَلَّقَهَا، فَأَبَى أَنْ يُنْفِقَ عَلَيْهَا، فَجَاءَتْ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَأَخْبَرَتْهُ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لَا نَفَقَةَ لَكِ، فَانْتَقِلِي فَاذْهَبِي إِلَى ابْنِ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ، فَكُونِي عِنْدَهُ، فَإِنَّهُ رَجُلٌ أَعْمَى تَضَعِينَ ثِيَابَكِ عِنْدَهُ

Urdu Translation

  ابوحازم نے ابوسلمہ سے ، انہوں نے فاطمہ بنت قیس رضی اللہ عنہا سے روایت کی کہ نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے عہد میں ان کے شوہر نے انہیں طلاق دے دی ، اور اس نے انہیں بہت حقیر سا خرچ دیا ، جب انہوں نے اسے دیکھا تو کہا : اللہ کی قسم! میں ( اس بات سے ) رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو ضرور آگاہ کروں گی ، اگر میرے لیے خرچ ہے تو اتنا لوں گی جو میری گزران درست کر دے ، اگر میرے لیے خرچ نہیں ہے تو میں اس سے کچھ بھی نہیں لوں گی ۔ انہوں نے کہا : میں نے اس بات کا ذکر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے کیا تو آپ نے فرمایا : " تمہارے لیے نہ خرچ ہے اور نہ رہائش ۔ "

English Translation

Fatima bint Qais reported that her husband divorced her during the life time of Allah's Prophet ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) and gave her a meagre maintenance allowance. When she saw that, she said: By Allah, I will inform Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ), and if maintenance allowance is due to me then I will accept that which will suffice me, and if it is not due to me, I will not accept anything from him. She said: I made a mention of that to Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) and he said: There is neither maintenance allowance for you nor lodging.
