Baab Kisi Ko Milne Wali Chez Jis Ke Malik Ka Pata Na Ho

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ بْنِ قَعْنَبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ بِلَالٍ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ، مَوْلَى الْمُنْبَعِثِ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ زَيْدَ بْنَ خَالِدٍ الْجُهَنِيَّ، صَاحِبَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، يَقُولُ: سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ اللُّقَطَةِ، الذَّهَبِ، أَوِ الْوَرِقِ؟ فَقَالَ: «اعْرِفْ وِكَاءَهَا وَعِفَاصَهَا، ثُمَّ عَرِّفْهَا سَنَةً، فَإِنْ لَمْ تَعْرِفْ فَاسْتَنْفِقْهَا، وَلْتَكُنْ وَدِيعَةً عِنْدَكَ، فَإِنْ جَاءَ طَالِبُهَا يَوْمًا مِنَ الدَّهْرِ فَأَدِّهَا إِلَيْهِ»، وَسَأَلَهُ عَنْ ضَالَّةِ الْإِبِلِ، فَقَالَ: «مَا لَكَ وَلَهَا، دَعْهَا، فَإِنَّ مَعَهَا حِذَاءَهَا وَسِقَاءَهَا، تَرِدُ الْمَاءَ، وَتَأْكُلُ الشَّجَرَ، حَتَّى يَجِدَهَا رَبُّهَا»، وَسَأَلَهُ عَنِ الشَّاةِ، فَقَالَ: «خُذْهَا، فَإِنَّمَا هِيَ لَكَ، أَوْ لِأَخِيكَ، أَوْ لِلذِّئْبِ

Urdu Translation

  سلیمان بن بلال نے ہمیں یحییٰ بن سعید سے حدیث بیان کی ، انہوں نے منبعث کے مولیٰ یزید سے روایت کی کہ انہوں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھی حضرت زید بن خالد جہنی رضی اللہ عنہ سے سنا ، وہ کہ رہے تھے : رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے کسی کے گرے یا بھولے ہوئے سونے اور چاندی کے بارے میں پوچھا گیا تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا : " اس کی تھیلی اور ( باندھنے کی ) رسی کی شناخت کر لو ، پھر ایک سال اس کی تشہیر کرو ، اگر ( کچھ بھی ) نہ جان پاؤ تو اسے خرچ کر لو اور وہ تمہارے پاس امانت ہو گی ، اگر کسی بھی دن اس کا طلب کرنے والا آ جائے تو اسے اس کی ادائیگی کر دو ۔ " اس شخص نے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے گمشدہ اونٹ کے بارے میں پوچھا : تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا : " تمہارا اس سے کیا واسطہ؟ اس کا جوتا اور مشکیزہ اس کے ساتھ ہے ، وہ مالک کے پا لینے تک ( خود ہی ) پانی پر آتا اور درخت کھاتا ہے ۔ اس نے آپ سے بکری کے بارے میں پوچھا تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا : اسے پکڑ لو ، وہ تمہاری ہے یا تمہارے بھائی کی ہے یا بھیڑیے کی ہے

English Translation

Zaid b. Khalid al-Juhani, the Companion ot Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ), said that Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) was asked about the picking up of stray gold or silver, whereupon he said: Recognise well the strap and the bag (containing) that and then make an announcement regarding that for one year, but if none recognises it, then spend that and it would be a trust with you; and if someone comes one day to make demand of that, then pay that to him. He (the inquirer) asked about the lost camel, whereupon he said: You have nothing to do with that. Leave that alone, for it has feet and also a leather bag, it drinks water, and eats (the leaves) of the trees. He asked him about sheep, whereupon he said: Take it, it is for you, or for your brother, or for the wolf.
