حَدَّثَنِي أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، عَنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ كَثِيرٍ، حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ حَلْحَلَةَ الدُّؤَلِيُّ، أَنَّ ابْنَ شِهَابٍ، حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّ عَلِيَّ بْنَ الْحُسَيْنِ، حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّهُمْ حِينَ قَدِمُوا الْمَدِينَةَ، مِنْ عِنْدِ يَزِيدَ بْنِ مُعَاوِيَةَ، مَقْتَلَ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا، لَقِيَهُ الْمِسْوَرُ بْنُ مَخْرَمَةَ، فَقَالَ لَهُ: هَلْ لَكَ إِلَيَّ مِنْ حَاجَةٍ تَأْمُرُنِي بِهَا؟ قَالَ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ: لَا، قَالَ لَهُ: هَلْ أَنْتَ مُعْطِيَّ سَيْفَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ؟ فَإِنِّي أَخَافُ أَنْ يَغْلِبَكَ الْقَوْمُ عَلَيْهِ، وَايْمُ اللهِ لَئِنْ أَعْطَيْتَنِيهِ لَا يُخْلَصُ إِلَيْهِ أَبَدًا، حَتَّى تَبْلُغَ نَفْسِي، إِنَّ عَلِيَّ بْنَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ خَطَبَ بِنْتَ أَبِي جَهْلٍ عَلَى فَاطِمَةَ، فَسَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يَخْطُبُ النَّاسَ فِي ذَلِكَ، عَلَى مِنْبَرِهِ هَذَا، وَأَنَا يَوْمَئِذٍ مُحْتَلِمٌ فَقَالَ: «إِنَّ فَاطِمَةَ مِنِّي، وَإِنِّي أَتَخَوَّفُ أَنْ تُفْتَنَ فِي دِينِهَا» قَالَ ثُمَّ ذَكَرَ صِهْرًا لَهُ مِنْ بَنِي عَبْدِ شَمْسٍ، فَأَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ فِي مُصَاهَرَتِهِ إِيَّاهُ فَأَحْسَنَ، قَالَ «حَدَّثَنِي فَصَدَقَنِي، وَوَعَدَنِي فَأَوْفَى لِي، وَإِنِّي لَسْتُ أُحَرِّمُ حَلَالًا وَلَا أُحِلُّ حَرَامًا، وَلَكِنْ وَاللهِ لَا تَجْتَمِعُ بِنْتُ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَبِنْتُ عَدُوِّ اللهِ مَكَانًا وَاحِدًا أَبَدًا»

Urdu Translation

  محمد بن عمرو بن حلحلہ دؤلی نے کہا : ابن شہاب نے انھیں حدیث بیان کی ، انھیں علی بن حسین ( زین العابدین رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ ) نے حدیث بیان کی کہ حضرت حسین بن علی رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کی شہادت کے بعد جب وہ یزید بن معاویہ کے ہاں سے مدینہ منورہ آئے تو مسور بن مخرمہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ ان سے ملے اور کہا : آپ کو مجھ سے کو ئی بھی کا م ہو تو مجھے حکم کیجیے ۔ ( حضرت علی بن حسین نے ) کہا : میں نے ان سے کہا : نہیں ( کو ئی کا م نہیں ) حضرت مسور رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے کہا : کیا آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی تلوار ( حفاظت کے لیے ) مجھے عطا کریں گے ، کیونکہ مجھے خدشہ ہے کہ یہ لو گ اس ( تلوار ) کے معاملے میں آپ پرغالب آنے کی کو شش کریں گے اور اللہ کی قسم !اگر آپ نے یہ تلوار مجھے دے دی تو کو ئی اس تک نہیں پہنچ سکے گا یہاں تک کہ میری جا ن اپنی منزل پر پہنچ جا ئے ۔ ( مجھے یا د ہے کہ ) جب حضرت علی بن ابی طالب رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے حضرت فاطمہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا کے ہو تے ہو ئے ابوجہل کی بیٹی کو نکا ح کا پیغام دیا تو میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے سنا ، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم اپنے منبرپر لوگوں کو خطبہ دے رہے تھے اور میں ان دنوں بلوغت کو پہنچ چکا تھا آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرما یا : " فاطمہ مجھ سے ہے ( میرے جسم کا ٹکڑا ہے ) اور مجھے اندیشہ ہے کہ اسے دین کے معاملے میں آزمائش میں ڈالا جا ئے گا ۔ کہا : پھر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے بنو عبد شمس میں سے اپنے داماد ( حضرت ابو العاص بن ربیع رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ ) کا ذکر فر ما یا اور اس کی اپنے ساتھ اس قرابت داری کی تعریف فرمائی اور اچھی طرح تعریف فر ما ئی ۔ آپ نے فر ما یا : " اس نے میرے ساتھ بات کی تو سچ کہا ۔ میرے ساتھ وعدہ کیا تو پورا کیااور میں کسی حلال کا م کو حرام قرار نہیں دیتا اور کسی حرام کو حلال نہیں کرتا اور لیکن اللہ کی قسم!اللہ کے رسول کی بیٹی اور اللہ کے دشمن کی بیٹی ایک جگہ ( ایک خاوندکے نکا ح میں ) اکٹھی نہیں ہو ں گی ۔ "

English Translation

(Imam Zain-ul-'Abidin) 'Ali b. Husain reported that when they came to Medina from Yazid b. Mu'awiya after the martyrdom of Husain b. 'Ali (Allah be pleased with him) Miswar b. Makhramah met him and said to him: Is there any work for me which you ask me to do? I said to him: No. He again said to me: Would you not give me the sword of Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) for I fear that the people may snatch it from you? By Allah, if you give that to me, no one would be able to take it away, so long as there is life in me. Verily 'Ali b. Abi Talib sent a proposal of marriage to the daughter of Abu Jahl in spite of (the fact that his wife) Fatima (had been living in his house). Thereupon I heard Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) say while addressing the people on the pulpit. I was adolescing in those days. He said: Fatima is a part of me and I fear that she may be put to trial in regard to religion. He then made a mention of his son-in law who had been from the tribe of 'Abd Shams and praised his behaviour as a son-in-law and said: Whatever he said to me he told the truth and whatever he promised he fulfilled it for me. I am not going to declare forbidden what is lawful and make lawful what is forbidden, but, by Allah, the daaghter of Allah's Messenger and the daughter of the enemy of Allah can never be combined at one place.
