This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Sufyin through another chain of transmitters but with a slight variation of wording.

حَدَّثَنِيهِ أَبُو دَاوُدَ سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ مَعْبَدٍ حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ غَيْرَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ وَآثَارٍ مَبْلُوغَةٍ قَالَ ابْنُ مَعْبَدٍ وَرَوَى بَعْضُهُمْ قَبْلَ حِلِّهِ أَيْ نُزُولِهِ

  ابوداود سلیمان بن معبد نے کہا : ہمیں حسین بن حفص نے حدیث بیان کی ، انہوں نے کہا : ہمیں سفیان نے اسی سند کے ساتھ حدیث بیان کی ، مگر انہوں نے کہا : "" اور قدموں کے ایسے نشان جن تک قدم پہنچ چکے ہیں ۔ "" ابن معبد نے کہا : ان ( اساتذہ ) میں سے بعض نے ( آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے فرمان ) : "" اس کے حل ہونے سے پہلے ۔ "" یعنی اس کے اترنے سے پہلے ( وضاحتی الفاظ کے ساتھ ) روایت کی ۔
