This tradition has also been transmitted by Abu Hurairah through a different chain of narrators. This version goes: he did not make two prostrations (at the end of prayer) due to forgetfulness until Allah gave him satisfaction about it.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ فَارِسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ الْأَوْزَاعِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ وَأَبِي سَلَمَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ بِهَذِهِ الْقِصَّةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَلَمْ يَسْجُدْ سَجْدَتَيِ السَّهْوِ حَتَّى يَقَّنَهُ اللَّهُ ذَلِكَ .

اس سند سے بھی ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے یہی واقعہ مروی ہے   اس میں ہے: اور آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے سجدہ سہو نہیں کیا یہاں تک کہ اللہ نے آپ کو اس کا کامل یقین دلا دیا ۔
