Jabir bin Samurah said: The prayer offered by the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم was moderate, and the sermon given by him was (also) moderate. He would recite a few verses from the Quran and exhort the people.

حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنِي سِمَاكٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كَانَتْ صَلَاةُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَصْدًا وَخُطْبَتُهُ قَصْدًا يَقْرَأُ آيَاتٍ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ وَيُذَكِّرُ النَّاسَ .

جابر بن سمرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی نماز درمیانی ہوتی تھی اور آپ کا خطبہ بھی درمیانی ہوتا تھا، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم قرآن کی چند آیتیں پڑھتے اور لوگوں کو نصیحت کرتے تھے۔
