حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَنَتَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي صَلَاةِ الْعَتَمَةِ شَهْرًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يَقُولُ فِي قُنُوتِهِ:‏‏‏‏ اللَّهُمَّ نَجِّ الْوَلِيدَ بْنَ الْوَلِيدِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏اللَّهُمَّ نَجِّ سَلَمَةَ بْنَ هِشَامٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏اللَّهُمَّ نَجِّ الْمُسْتَضْعَفِينَ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏اللَّهُمَّ اشْدُدْ وَطْأَتَكَ عَلَى مُضَرَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْهَا عَلَيْهِمْ سِنِينَ كَسِنِي يُوسُفَ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ:‏‏‏‏ وَأَصْبَحَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ فَلَمْ يَدْعُ لَهُمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَمَا تُرَاهُمْ قَدْ قَدِمُوا .

Urdu Translation

ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ایک ماہ تک عشاء میں دعائے قنوت پڑھی، آپ اس میں دعا فرماتے:«اللهم نج الوليد بن الوليد اللهم نج سلمة بن هشام اللهم نج المستضعفين من المؤمنين اللهم اشدد وطأتك على مضر اللهم اجعلها عليهم سنين كسني يوسف» اے اللہ! ولید بن ولید کو نجات دے، اے اللہ! سلمہ بن ہشام کو نجات دے، اے اللہ! کمزور مومنوں کو نجات دے، اے اللہ! مضر پر اپنا عذاب سخت کر اور ان پر ایسا قحط ڈال دے جیسا یوسف ( علیہ السلام ) کے زمانے میں پڑا تھا ) ۔ ابوہریرہ کہتے ہیں: ایک دن رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فجر میں ان لوگوں کے لیے دعا نہیں کی، تو میں نے اس کا ذکر آپ سے کیا تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: تم نے نہیں دیکھا کہ یہ لوگ ( اب کافروں کی قید سے نکل کر مدینہ ) آ چکے ہیں؟ ۔

English Translation

Abu Hurairah said: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم recited the supplication in the night prayer for a month. He said (in his supplication): O Allah, rescue al-Walid bin al-Walid, rescue Salamah bin Hisham, rescue the weak believers; O Allah, trample severely on Mudar; O Allah, cause them a famine like that of Joseph. Abu Hurairah said: One morning the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم id not make supplication for them. So I told him about it. He said: You dod not see that they have come (back).
