The aforesaid tradition has also been transmitted by abu-Said al-Khudri to the same effect to a different chain of narrators, attributing it to the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم. Abu-Dawud said: Ibn ‘Uyainah reported from Zaid, from whom Malik narrated and Thwari narrated from Zaid that an authentic narrator reported from the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم

حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ بِمَعْنَاهُ. قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد:‏‏‏‏ وَرَوَاهُ ابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ زَيْدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏كَمَا قَالَ مَالِكٌ:‏‏‏‏ وَرَوَاهُ الثَّوْرِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ زَيْدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنِي الثَّبْتُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.

اس سند سے بھی ابو سعید خدری رضی اللہ عنہ سے اسی مفہوم کی حدیث مرفوعاً مروی ہے   ابوداؤد کہتے ہیں: نیز اسے ابن عیینہ نے زید سے اسی طرح روایت کیا جیسے مالک نے کہا ہے اور ثوری نے اسے زید سے روایت کیا ہے، وہ کہتے ہیں: مجھ سے ایک ثقہ راوی نے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے مرفوعاً بیان کیا ہے۔
