Sunan Abu Dawood 2105 - Marriage (Kitab Al-Nikah)

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ النُّفَيْلِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ الْهَادِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْأَبِي سَلَمَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ سَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْ صَدَاقِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ ثِنْتَا عَشْرَةَ أُوقِيَّةً وَنَشٌّ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ وَمَا نَشٌّ ؟ قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ نِصْفُ أُوقِيَّةٍ.

Urdu Translation

ابوسلمہ بن عبدالرحمٰن بن عوف الزہری کہتے ہیں کہ   میں نے ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ( کی ازواج مطہرات ) کے مہر کے بارے میں پوچھا تو انہوں نے بتایا کہ بارہ اوقیہ اور ایک نش تھا ۱؎، میں نے کہا: نش کیا ہے؟ فرمایا: آدھا اوقیہ ۲؎۔

English Translation

Abu Salamah said “I asked Aishah about the dower given by the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم. She said “It was twelve Uqiyahs and a nashsh”. I asked “What is nashsh?” She said it is half an uqiyah.
