Narrated A Companion of the Prophet: Abu Bakr ibn Abdur Rahman reported on the authority of a Companion of the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم: I saw the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم commanding the people while he was travelling on the occasion of the conquest of Makkah not to observe fast. He said: Be strong for your enemy. The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم fasted himself. Narrated Abu Bakr: A man who narrated his tradition to me said: I have seen the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم in al-Arj pouring water over his head while he was fasting, either because of thirst or because of heat.

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ الْقَعْنَبِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مَالِكٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سُمَيٍّ مَوْلَى أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمَرَ النَّاسَ فِي سَفَرِهِ عَامَ الْفَتْحِ بِالْفِطْرِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ تَقَوَّوْا لِعَدُوِّكُمْ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَصَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ الَّذِي حَدَّثَنِي:‏‏‏‏ لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالْعَرْجِ يَصُبُّ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ الْمَاءَ وَهُوَ صَائِمٌ مِنَ الْعَطَشِ أَوْ مِنَ الْحَرِّ.

ابوبکر بن عبدالرحمٰن ایک صحابی سے روایت کرتے ہیں، وہ کہتے ہیں کہ   میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو دیکھا آپ نے فتح مکہ کے سال اپنے سفر میں لوگوں کو روزہ توڑ دینے کا حکم دیا، اور فرمایا: اپنے دشمن ( سے لڑنے ) کے لیے طاقت حاصل کرو اور رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے خود روزہ رکھا۔ ابوبکر کہتے ہیں: مجھ سے بیان کرنے والے نے کہا کہ میں نے مقام عرج میں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو اپنے سر پر پیاس سے یا گرمی کی وجہ سے پانی ڈالتے ہوئے دیکھا اور آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم روزے سے تھے۔
