Narrated Aishah, Ummul Muminin: Safiyyah, daughter of Atiyyah, said: I entered upon Aishah with some women of AbdulQays, and asked her about mixing dried dates and raisins (for drink). She replied: I used to take a handful of dried dates and a handful or raisins and put them in a vessel, and then crush them (and soak in water). Then I would give it to the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم to drink.

حَدَّثَنَا زِيَادُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الْحَسَّانِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَحْرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا عَتَّابُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ الْحِمَّانِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَتْنِي صَفِيَّةُ بِنْتُ عَطِيَّةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ دَخَلْتُ مَعَ نِسْوَةٍ مِنْ عَبْدِ الْقَيْسِ عَلَى عَائِشَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَسَأَلْنَاهَا عَنِ التَّمْرِ وَالزَّبِيبِ ؟ فقالت:‏‏‏‏ كُنْتُ آخُذُ قَبْضَةً مِنْ تَمْرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَبْضَةً مِنْ زَبِيبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَأُلْقِيهِ فِي إِنَاءٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَأَمْرُسُهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ أَسْقِيهِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .

صفیہ بنت عطیہ کہتی ہیں   میں عبدالقیس کی چند عورتوں کے ساتھ ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا کے پاس گئی، اور ہم نے آپ سے کھجور اور کشمش ملا کر ( نبیذ تیار کرنے کے سلسلے میں ) پوچھا، آپ نے کہا: میں ایک مٹھی کھجور اور ایک مٹھی کشمش لیتی اور اسے ایک برتن میں ڈال دیتی، پھر اس کو ہاتھ سے مل دیتی پھر اسے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو پلاتی۔
