Sunan Abu Dawood 533 - Prayer (Kitab Al-Salat)

حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا شُعَيْبُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ أَبِي رَوَّادٍ،‏‏‏‏أَخْبَرَنَا نَافِعٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مُؤَذِّنٍ لِعُمَرَ يُقَالُ لَهُ:‏‏‏‏ مَسْرُوحٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَذَّنَ قَبْلَ الصُّبْحِ فَأَمَرَهُ عُمَرُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد وَقَدْ رَوَاهُ حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ نَافِعٍ أَوْ غَيْرِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّ مُؤَذِّنًا لِعُمَرَ يُقَالُ لَهُ:‏‏‏‏ مَسْرُوحٌ أَوْ غَيْرُهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَرَوَاهُ الدَّرَاوَرْدِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ نَافِعٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كَانَ لِعُمَرَ مُؤَذِّنٌ يُقَالُ لَهُ:‏‏‏‏ مَسْعُودٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَذَكَرَ نَحْوَهُ. وَهَذَا أَصَحُّ مِنْ ذَاكَ

Urdu Translation

عمر رضی اللہ عنہ کے مسروح نامی مؤذن سے روایت ہے کہ   انہوں نے صبح صادق سے پہلے اذان دے دی تو عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے انہیں حکم دیا، پھر انہوں نے اسی طرح کی روایت ذکر کی۔ ابوداؤد کہتے ہیں: اسے حماد بن زید نے عبیداللہ بن عمر سے، عبیداللہ نے نافع سے یا کسی اور سے روایت کیا ہے کہ عمر رضی اللہ عنہ کا ایک مؤذن تھا ( جس کا نام مسروح یا کچھ اور تھا ) ۔ ابوداؤد کہتے ہیں: اسے دراوردی نے عبیداللہ سے، عبیداللہ نے نافع سے، نافع نے ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے روایت کیا ہے کہ عمر رضی اللہ عنہ کا مسعود نامی ایک مؤذن تھا، اور دراوردی نے اسی طرح کی روایت ذکر کی اور یہ پہلی روایت سے زیادہ صحیح ہے۔

English Translation

Nafi reported: A muadhdhin of Umar, named Masruh, called the Adhan for the morning prayer before the break of dawn; Umar commanded him (to repeat). The narrator reported the tradition in a similar way. Abu Dawud said: This tradition has been transmitted by al-Darawardi from Ubaid Allah on the authority of Ibn Umar, saying: there was a muadhdhin of Umar, named Masud. He then narrated the rest of the tradition. This version is more correct than one.
