Ibn Abbas reported; when the prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم recited: “Glorify the name of thy Lord, the Most High. ” He would say: ”Glory be to Allah, the most High”. Abu Dawud said; In this tradition the other narrators have differed from the narrator Wakl. This has been narrated by Wakl, and Shubah from Abu Ishaq, from Sa’ld bin Jubair, from Ibn Abbas as his own statement (and not from the Prophet)

حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مُسْلِمٍ الْبَطِينِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ إِذَا قَرَأَ سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الأَعْلَى سورة الأعلى آية 1، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ سُبْحَانَ رَبِّيَ الْأَعْلَى . قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد:‏‏‏‏ خُولِفَ وَكِيعٌ فِي هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ. وَرَوَاهُ أَبُو وَكِيعٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَشُعْبَةُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ مَوْقُوفًا.

عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ   نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم جب «سبح اسم ربك الأعلى» پڑھتے تو «سبحان ربي الأعلى»کہتے۔ ابوداؤد کہتے ہیں: اس حدیث میں وکیع کی مخالفت کی گئی اور اسے ابو وکیع اور شعبہ نے ابواسحاق سے ابوسحاق نے سعید بن جبیر سے اور سعید نے ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے موقوفاً روایت کیا ہے۔
