Aishah said: A man used to pray on the roof of his house. When he recited the verse “Is not He able to bring the dead to life?” [Surah al-Qiyamah: 42] he would say: ”Glory be to You, then, why not?” the prophet asked him about it. He replied: I heard it from the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم. Abu Dawud said: Ahmad (b. Hanbal) said: It is pleasing to me that one should recite in the obligatory prayer those supplications which have occurred in the Quran.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ أَبِي عَائِشَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كَانَ رَجُل يُصَلِّي فَوْقَ بَيْتِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَكَانَ إِذَا قَرَأَ أَلَيْسَ ذَلِكَ بِقَادِرٍ عَلَى أَنْ يُحْيِيَ الْمَوْتَى سورة القيامة آية 40 قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ سُبْحَانَكَ فَبَلَى . فَسَأَلُوهُ عَنْ ذَلِكَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ. قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ أَحْمَدُ:‏‏‏‏ يُعْجِبُنِي فِي الْفَرِيضَةِ أَنْ يَدْعُوَ بِمَا فِي الْقُرْآنِ.

موسی بن ابی عائشہ کہتے ہیں   ایک صاحب اپنی چھت پر نماز پڑھا کرتے تھے، جب وہ آیت کریمہ «أليس ذلك بقادر على أن يحيي الموتى» ( سورة القيامة: ۴۰ ) پر پہنچتے تو «سبحانك» کہتے پھر روتے، لوگوں نے اس سے ان کی وجہ پوچھی تو انہوں نے کہا: میں نے اسے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے سنا ہے۔ ابوداؤد کہتے ہیں: احمد نے کہا: مجھے بھلا لگتا ہے کہ آدمی فرض نماز میں وہ دعا کرے جو قرآن میں ہے۔
