It was narrated that 'Aishah said: I asked the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) about the torment of the grave, and he siad: 'Yes, the torment of the grave is real.' 'Aishah said: After that I never saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) offer any prayer but he would seek refuge with Allah (SWT) from the torment of the grave.

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَشْعَثَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا،‏‏‏‏ قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ،‏‏‏‏ فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ نَعَمْ،‏‏‏‏ عَذَابُ الْقَبْرِ حَقٌّ ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ عَائِشَةُ فَمَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي صَلَاةً بَعْدُ:‏‏‏‏ إِلَّا تَعَوَّذَ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ .

ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ   میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے قبر کے عذاب کے بارے میں دریافت کیا تو آپ نے فرمایا:  ہاں، قبر کا عذاب برحق ہے ، اس کے بعد میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو کوئی نماز پڑھتے ہوئے نہیں دیکھا جس میں آپ نے قبر کے عذاب سے پناہ نہ مانگی ہو۔
